Can BCE add length to joist (and beams) when they are X inches from the rounding length? For example, 11’10” long joist will be rounded to 12’. However, maybe the drawing is a bad drawing, or we want to account for other factors, in which 12’0” joist length may not be good, and we want it to round up to the next foot or even foot (13’ or 14’). It appears that only precut lengths can be set in formulas for Structural Q/L items. Alternative solution would be to add “X” length to all joists (and beams) – for example, add 3” to all joists. 11’10” will be processed as 12’1” and will round up to 13’ or 14’. 11’8” joist will be processed as 11’11” and would be 12’ length. Other items can be adjusted by percentage, but an actual dimension would work better. An alternative, would be to have an option for “split overlap” where the joist do not offset.
